Hello, everyone! Our #105 meeting was held on March 2nd via Zoom with 9 members and 2 guests, one of the two is from the Netherlands.
The meeting theme this time was TURN OBSTACLES INTO OPPORTUNITIES. The meeting started with a Small Talk Session where everyone shared their updates.
Word of the Day was set to VIABLE.
In Prepared Speech Session, we had two speakers today. 1st speaker, TM Harry, delivered the final speech of "Leadership Development," one of Toastmasters' educational programs, PATHWAY. This speech is a review of “Leadership Development”, and by giving this speech, he has completed his “Leadership Development”program. He completed the program with remarkable speed, and all of the speeches he gave were of high quality. We respect and congratulate him from the bottom of our hearts. Congratulations!
2nd speaker, TM Yukimasa, gave a speech about how a smile can motivate us. It was a simple message, but it was delivered along with his own work and Toastmasters experience, and it left a lasting impression on us, along with his voice singing “Smile”.
[Verse 1]
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
[Verse 2]
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
In Table Topic Speech Session, the following 5 topics were provided related to today's theme. We also enjoyed the elaborate slides with sound effects and animation!
・During job interviews, how do you tackle with challenging questions?
・Du you think there are always solutions for obstacles?
・What is your advice to people who are facing obstacles?
・Do you think you tend to be optimistic or pessimistic when you face challenging situations?
・When you encounter difficult situations at your work, what is your approach?
After all sessions, the best Table Topic Speaker went to TM Harry. We did not vote on the evaluators this time because there were two speakers.
We had a great time today with a diverse participants as always. Looking forward to seeing you next time, on March 16th!
