#108 meeting

Hello, everyone! Our #108 meeting was held on April 20th via Zoom with 8 members and 4 guests from Boston and Colorado, United States, and Okayama prefecture, Japan.

The theme of this meeting was HOLIDAYS. The meeting started with a Small Talk Session where everyone shared how they were spending time these days.

Word of the Day was set to EXHILARATE.

In Prepared Speech Session, we had three speakers today.

1st speaker, TM Kimiko, told the story of "Buying Mittens" as a Pathway project about story telling. The virtual backgrounds were effective in conveying the scenes, and the lovely story seemed to entertain the audience.

2nd speaker, TM Yuki, shared her experience as an officer in the Toastmasters Area Contest lately, and shared what she has devised and what needs to be improved. Online style contest is still building its methodology, and there was much to learn from her speech.

3rd speaker, TM Sherri, gave a very encouraging speech with her experiences. Especially her aggressive and diverse vocal variety conveyed the scene in a vivid way. For her speech, we did a group evaluation rather than an evaluation by one evaluator.

In Table Topic Speech Session, the following 8 topics were provided related to today's theme.

・If you could switch lives with anyone currently living for an entire day, who would it be?

・What are 3 things you look for in a good friend?

・What motivates you?

・How did you meet your best friend?

・What is your hidden talent?

・When your friend can’t adjust the new environment such as a new office or new school, what things would you suggest him (or her)?

・If you are granted 3 wishes, what would they be?

・If COVID-19 pandemic subdued in the near future what would you like to do?

After all sessions, the best Table Topic Speaker went to our guest, Kyoko-san. We did not vote on the evaluators this time because there was only two evaluators.

We had a great time today with a diverse participants as always. Looking forward to seeing you next time, on May 4th!
