#109 meeting

Hello, everyone! Our #109 meeting was held on May 4th via Zoom with 8 members and 4 guests from Germany, India, Colorado, United States, and Okayama prefecture, Japan.

The theme of this meeting was COLOR IDIOMS. The meeting started with a Small Talk Session where everyone shared how they were spending time these days.

Word of the Day was set to RESOURCEFUL.

Since there were only two Prepared Speakers this time, the Joke Master used the available time to conduct Joke Session. 3 jokes were introduced, and the meeting started off with a lot of laughter.

In Prepared Speech Session, we had two speakers today.

1st speaker, TM Edward, told a story, Legend of Pinapple. This is a story widely told in the Philippines about how the pineapple came into being, but it was new to me and very interesting.

2nd speaker, TM Takako, she shared her experience conducting an online gathering with a group outside of Toastmasters. She said that by practicing accessing online meetings in advance, etc., the gathering was a success, with many members who were initially hesitant to participate eventually attending the meeting. I was again impressed by her leadership.

For each speech, we did a group evaluation rather than an evaluation by a single evaluator.

In Table Topic Speech Session, the following 7 idioms were provided related to today's theme. Speaker can make table topic speech in three different ways as follows.

- Speaker can incorporate color idioms in your speeches.

- Speaker can talk about something related to the ideas each idiom implies.

- Speaker can just talk about anything associated with the color gave you.

・Every cloud has a silver lining.

・Grass is always greener on the other side.

・White elephant

・Once in a blue moon

・Golden opportunity

・Be in the pink (Is there anything you do regularly to be in the pink?)

・White Lie

After all sessions, the best Table Topic Speaker went to our guest, TM Arsenii.

It was another fun meeting with diverse members. Looking forward to seeing you next time, on May 18th!
