#111 meeting

Hello, everyone! Our #111 meeting was held on June 1st via Zoom with 8 members and 1 guest from Sapporo, Japan.

The theme of this meeting was TIME MANAGEMENT and Word of the Day was set to PUNCTUAL.

The meeting started with a Small Talk Session where everyone shared how they were spending time these days.

Well, fireflies have recently been seen in Kamakura, Japan. In Japan, fireflies have a good and elegant image, but it was interesting to hear that in the U.S. they do not have such a good image.

I did a little research and found that in Japan, aquatic fireflies are the mainstream and live in beautiful streams. They can glow for a relatively long time and are very fantastic.

On the other hand, in the U.S., terrestrial fireflies are the mainstream, and it is not so uncommon to see them. They do not seem to glow for long periods of time.

This difference may be the reason for the difference in the image of fireflies.

In Prepared Speech Session, we had two speakers today.

1st speaker, TM Edward, explained what Diversity is and why it is important using past incidents and his own experiences. It was very compelling.

2nd speaker, TM Kazuko, gave the speech at her son's wedding. It was a very heartwarming speech, including her son's background and her mother's story. Please accept my best wishes for a long and happy life.

In Table Topic Speech Session, today, as a new trial, we split into breakout rooms of 3 or 4 members each. We had more opportunities to talk with each other than in the usual style, and we were able to talk a lot with the other members in same room.

It was another fun meeting with diverse members. Looking forward to seeing you next time, on June 15th!
