#69 Meeting

Hello subscribers!

I am Harry Woo from South Korea, and I joined Diversity this August. It is my honor and privilege to serve as the Secretary of Diversity Toastmasters.

As your Secretary, I will keep posting our meeting blogs from now on. Please feel free to send me your feedback anytime.

Our #69 meeting was held on September 2nd via Zoom with 16 members and 4 guests from all over the world.

Our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Paul Peng, smoothly coordinated the meeting, starting with the small talk session in a fun and cozy atmosphere as always. And we had "sensible" as our word of the day which was chosen by TM Takeshi Nakamura.

Congratulations to TM Hideo Imai for earning your DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters) award!

And please extend your warm welcome to TM Wisam Safi, the newest member of our club who joined from UAE.

In the prepared speeches session, we had three well-rounded speakers; TM Yuki Morimoto, TM Mikiko Bandoh, and TM LanAhn Pahm.

First speaker Yuki delivered an interesting speech about 6 degrees separation theory with thoughtful messages.

Second speaker Mikiko shared us a study on regenerating Tokushima City, where she lives in, with great pictures.

And third speaker LanAhn shared her interesting story about dating out Henry, which was full of unexpected events.

Our Table Topics Master of the Day, TM Kimiko Masuoka, prepared interesting topics about the end of summer, including firework, summer vacation homework, and ghost story. Three great impromptu speakers joined the session; TM Shinsuke Ishihara, TM Teruhiro Goto, and TM Anita Fujii. They all delivered their unforgettable memories on topics about summer.

General Evaluator TM Takako Yamada led the speech evaluation session smoothly. Three evaluators, TM Kazuko Takayama, TM Anita Fujii, and TM Masako Hino. Our Grammarian TM Michael Whyte provided valuable feedback to all members and Ah-Counter TM Shinsuke Ishihara did fantastic job for improving our speech.

That concludes my first report. We are going to have Speech Marathon in the next meeting. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
