Hello subscribers!
Our #70 meeting was held on September 16th via Zoom, and we had a speech marathon with 15 members and 7 guests from all over the world!
Our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Paul Peng, smoothly coordinated the whole meeting with his positive energy. The small talk session in an "exuberant" and lively atmosphere as always. The word "exuberant" was Word of the day which was chosen by TM Kazuko Takayama.
Thanks to our passionate members and active coordination of VPE, we could hold a speech marathon with four talented speakers; TM Anita Fujii, TM Harry Woo, TM Shinsuke Ishihara, and TM Wisam Safi.
First speaker Anita presented her insightful research on vaccinations development, which was timely and meaningful in the days of pandemic.
Second speaker Harry delivered his icebreaker speech. He described his journey to reach Diversity TM with introductions to himself, his family, and job.
Third speaker Shinsuke delivered his second 'Go for it' speech, dressing up as a surfer. We couldn't take our eyes and ears from his fantastic motivational speech.
Fourth speaker Wisam, our newest member, also delivered his first speech, sharing his intersting experiences from various countries he visited or worked in.
General Evaluator TM LanAnh Pham led the speech evaluation session on the speech marathon. We had four skilled evaluators, TM Yuki Morimoto, TM Hideo Imai, TM Takako Yamada, and TM Frank Rubio. And I would like to say that we do appreciate our special guest TM Frank for taking the evaluator role.
Also, thanks to fantastic work from our Timer TM Kimiko Masuoka, Grammarian TM Mikiko Bandoh, and Ah-Counter TM Takeshi Nakamura, we could have fruitful and successful speech marathon.
That concludes my report. Please feel free to send me your feedback anytime. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
