#72 Meeting

Hello subscribers!

Our #72 meeting was held on October 21st via Zoom, and we had a pleasant meeting with 10 members and 6 guests from France, South Africa, India, and Japan!

Our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Kimiko Masuoka, was so skillful in leading the whole meeting and I couldn't believe that it was her first time to do TMoD role! Thanks to TMoD Kimiko's smooth leading, we had another lively and happy small talk session. And we are continuing our new time management policy for the small talk session to make the meeting more concise and well-organized.

The word "endeavor" was Word of the Day which was chosen by our VPE LanAnh Pham.

In the prepared speeches session, we had three speakers; TM Harry Woo, TM Anita Fujii, and TM Yuki Morimoto. And TMoD Kimiko introduced each speaker with her theme question about their plans for futures which was really interesting.

First speaker Harry shared his story about the spontaneous solo-travel at night during his honeymoon in Florence, Italy.

Second speaker Anita delivered an insightful speech about how true leaders are different from managers. She showed us what characteristic makes a great leader who we respect from our hear and follow their path.

Third speaker Yuki presented her research on red and yellow autumn leaves. She showed us great scenery of trees with autumn colors and how the colors change with chemical formulas.

Our Table Topics Master of the Day, TM Paul Peng, prepared his lottery box(!) for table topics. What a brilliant way to show table topics! He prepared interesting and thoughtful questions about our plans for the future. Six impromptu speakers joined the session; TM Kazuko, TM Harry, TM Asami, TM Takeshi, TM Supriya (Guest), and TM LanAnh.

General Evaluator TM Mikiko Bando smoothly coordinated the evaluation session. We had three talented evaluators, TM Takeshi Nakamura, TM Kazuko Takayama, and TM Hideo Imai. Also, thanks to fantastic work from our Timer TM Shinsuke Ishihara, Grammarian TM Asami Miyazaki, Ah-Counter TM Takako Yamada, and Vote-Counter TM Midori Yoshida did great job for improving our public speaking skills.

That concludes my report. Please feel free to send me your feedback anytime. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
