#81 meeting

Hello subscribers!

Our #81 meeting was held on March 3rd via Zoom, and we had a pleasant meeting with 11 members and 2 guests from France and Japan!

Our Toastmaster of the Day, TM LanAnh Pham led the whole meeting in a smooth manner. With the meeting theme "Self-understanding", the small talk session was full of warm stories and updates from fellow members.

The word "rosy" was Word of the Day which was chosen by TM Asami Miyazaki.

In the prepared speeches session, we had two speakers; TM Anita Fujii, and TM Harry Woo.

First speaker Anita delivered a speech about her experience in change management. For the community named Dallas Japanese Career Women of which major source of funding was donation, she could successfully introduce the individual membership fee with thorough communication plan.

Second speaker Harry shared his experiences at a pub in Tokyo where he mingled with local residents there. He could understand that the purpose of language acquisition is to communicate, not to be perfect for proficiency tests.

Our Table Topics Master of the Day was TM Anita Fujii, who accepted the dual role for today. She prepared thought-provoking questions about understanding ourselves, including what is your biggest strengths, what do you do for fun, what do you believe in, etc. Five impromptu speakers joined the session; TM Yukimasa Matsuda, Guest Hiroko, Guest Thierry, TM Kazuko Takayama, and TM Harry Woo.

General Evaluator TM Yukimasa Matsuda coordinated the evaluation session. Two prudent evaluators, TM Takako Yamada, and TM Kazuko Takayama provided thorough speech evaluations. Also, thanks to fantastic work from our Timer TM Paul Peng, Grammarian TM Mikiko Bandoh, and Ah-counter TM Kimiko Masuoka did great job for improving our public speaking skills.

That concludes my report. Please feel free to send me your feedback anytime. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
