Before the end of June, which is the end of Toastmasters' fiscal year, I decided to make additional posts reflecting on the past year at Diversity TMC.
The first subject is... "Good morning and good evening!". This is the customary greeting at our meetings. Is it funny?
Because we have participants from all over the world! For example, we are in Finland, Texas, Korea, Japan and New Jersey in the USA.
The regular meeting starts at 21:00 Japan time, which is as follows in each region.
PM 3 in Finland
AM 7 in Texas
AM 8 in New Jersey
PM 21 in Korea and Japan
It is also standard practice to ask guests where they are attending from and what time it is.
Isn't it kind of strange and wonderful that people conversing at the same time are living in different time?
