Hi there, thank you for visiting our blog!
We are an online Toastmasters club based in Japan. Anyone who is interested in visiting our club, just send us a message. Our members will welcome you with open arms, and excited to listen to your story!
So, last night we had a superb joint meeting with the Sapporo Pioneers which I am the president of. The theme of the meeting was Halloween of course, with playful backgrounds and costumes.
We had three extraordinarily prepared speeches to say the least. The first speech was about the author JK Rowling who wrote “Harry Potter.” Ms. N talked about why she is her role model in her life; how creative she is, how resilient she is, and how she can even embrace her flaws. I was mesmerized by her intense voice conveying her sincere admiration towards JK Rowling. It made me feel the advantage of having such a strong role model to always steer you in a positive direction!
The second speech was ”Step out of your comfort zone.” Ms. K gave us a strong message that we all can apply to our lives which is “live in the moment” by telling us how she got on board a 5-day bike trip in Italy with her friends which seemed out of her capacity at that moment. She told us why she jumped on that opportunity by mentioning that her father passed away before enjoying his dream retirement life. We all know that life is short in our head, but not fully convinced until you see the example or experience yourself for real. We were very fortunate to be reminded that last night!
The third speech was about the wonderful introduction of Hokkaido. Since most diversity members reside outside of Hokkaido, they seemed to be intrigued by all the places she was mentioning, and what to do in those areas. Growing up in the big city and coming to Hokkaido after high school, the speaker’s love of Hokkaido was plausible. I wonder how many diversity members will come to Hokkaido in the near future. It would be my honor to welcome you to our in person meeting at Sapporo Pioneer!
From the inviting “thought for the day” to the exceptional evaluation session, there was full content throughout the meeting! It was indeed a “superb” meeting. The word of the day described the meeting so well;-) It was much more to write about, but it’s time for me to get ready for the weekend :-D So, if you're curious what it's like to be learning with us, come join our meeting as a guest! You'll be welcomed with open arms!
Finally, thank you to all who attended the meeting last night! It couldn't have been better without you!
