Ginza! 27 January, 2019

It was another entertaining afternoon of workshop and prepared speeches, on Sunday 27 January at Kyobashi Plaza Kuminkan where Ginza TMC held their latest regular meeting.

1. Introduction Yuko, President of the Club, welcomed everyone to the meeting then associating laughter and humor with questions of Toastmasters. She then introduced TMoD Paul who explained the running order of the meeting and offered a huge welcome to our guests, including Patrick, Nishio, Masa, Siah, Abler, and gave an opportunity to introduce themselves and make a short greeting. Then he invited Junya who declared the word of the day “Stumble”.

2. Charter member certification Club founder Mom Eva and Dad Drian secretly planned surprise event for charter members Kanako and Junya who missed charter ceremony last year, organizing another ceremony where their member certifications were provided and it was great! Best planners Eva and Drian!

3. Song of the Day Sugar selected “Blowin' In The Wind” written by Bob Dylan in 1962. It is a protest song that raises rhetorical questions about peace, war and freedom. Bob seemingly believes that the answers are there, however, no one rarely to find them. We got hooked in with his lyricism by saying the sentence one-by-one.

4. Prepared speeches The first speaker Shinsaku with his Presentation #5- titled “Story of English”. It was designed as an aid to the language presentation of communications, and he talked us through slides to show us how English has been developed clearly. This was very good way to learn English through histories, as this can really help us our to better understand grammar, pronunciation and vocaburalry.

Next to speak was Yuki with his Visionary Communication-36-Reflecting Your Path titled "A Path through Pathways". Admirably sharing experiences completing this path, including marketing, mentor, body languages, online meeting, collaboration 2.0, etc., he carefully analyzed the progress made and skills learned and developed. The best thing was to apply them in his professional and personal life, for example, passing job interview. We were sure that his pathway was a great success.

5. Workshop The cool presenter, Drian led brilliant workshop titled "Being Entertaining". Covering tips on how to connect with people, he proposed an approach to speak as a child. As a child we start to talk by saying a few words and eventually we rattle on and on. All the words we use are stored in our brain and without really thinking we grab them when we need them in conversation. Speaking as a child allows us to shine our creativity while developing our imagination. Effectively handled word game session followed. We learned that linking words one by one (Michel/Jackson/went/White/Black/・・・)are something that can really assist our exercise in conversation, as they encourage rapport between people, avoiding interaction breakdown. Connecting words in conversation put a high value on atmosphere.

After the workshop, General Evaluator Tomomi invited three wonderful evaluators: Kanako for Shinsaku and Yuko and Yossy for Yuki. Finally, Tomomi evaluated our meeting with supplemental comments by Paul.

6. Awards Best Evaluator Kanako Best Speaker Yuki
